Wine and Health: a double-edged sword

Michael D. Apstein is a Doctor and a a member of the Gastroenterology Division at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, one of Harvard’s major teaching hospitals, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Apstein has written extensively about wine and health for Decanter Magazine. He won a James Beard Journalism Award for an article on wine and health that appeared in The Boston Globe.

Dr. Apstein has lectured to wine enthusiasts, physicians, and scientists around the world—the United States, Canada, and China—on the subject of wine and health.
