Born to prune. Ideas for a more equality wine world

Irene Guede Arboniés. Pamplona (1983) She is graduated in Social Media, Universidad de Barcelona, and master´s degree in Production and Production of Fiction in Film and Television, Ramón Llull University.

She has a Master’s degree in Sommelier and Oenomarketing from the Basque Culinary Center, is certified in level 3 of the WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust) and is currently studying for the WSET Diploma. She is member of Navarra Sommeliers Asociation and Woman Journalist Asociation.

She currently combines her project La Chica de la Garnacha, which offers communication services to small wineries and different wine projects, with the production of documentaries on rural and wine themes. She is the author of numerous audiovisual reports from wineries from Spain and Europe. Also, she is the creator and presenter of the popular podcast on viticulture, La Filoxera with Julián Palacios y Gonzaga Santestebán. Irene considers wine, viticulture and its history her passion.

He had awarded for her film Saudado (2013) in the World Film Festival-Houston and has two Honourable mentioned of Wine Spectator from her reporters , Txakoli, a wine from the sea (2015) y Ana, a winemaker story (2016) In 2018 her documentary ‘Las Podas Olvidadas’, a travel trough four Spanish regions where keeps the traditional harvest, was awarded in the 25th Oenovideo French specialised film festival with the special prize of the French oenologist´s magazine.

A recognition of his contribution to scientific and technical knowledge. For this same work she also received one of the Teobaldo awards for best journalist in Navarra in 2018. In 2021 she made the documentary “Y a la viña también” the story of the women winegrowers of San Martín de Unx and began to disseminate information on communication with a gender perspective and on how to build a more egalitarian and inclusive sector.
